Introducing the Palo Alto City Library App

Great news for readers on the go: the Palo Alto City Library now fits in your pocket! Our brand-new mobile app makes it easier than ever to browse, borrow, and explore everything the library offers—right from your smartphone or tablet.

What you can do with the app

  • Search the entire catalog in seconds – Find books, e-books, audiobooks, movies, and more with smart “format roll-up” results that group editions together.
  • Keep tabs on your account – See current checkouts, due dates, and holds at a glance. It saves your login info!
  • Carry multiple library cards – Families can store child cards in one convenient place using the Linked Accounts feature.
  • Discover more – Use the built-in barcode scanner in bookstores or wherever to answer the age old question "does my library already have this?"

How to get started

  1. Download the “Palo Alto City Library” app from the App Store or Google Play. (Search for “Palo Alto City Library” or scan the QR code posted in our branches.)
  2. Log in with your existing 14 digit library card number + PIN.
  3. Explore! Place holds, renew items, check due dates and all that fancy stuff you can do on our website.
