If you enjoy Storytimes, opens a new window at the library, you are going to love our Read Together Storytime Kits, opens a new window!
The Library has put together 61 unique bags of picture books with themes such as Creativity & Imagination, opens a new window, Neighbors, opens a new window, and Do Your Best, opens a new window.
What’s in a kit?
Each bag will have 5-7 books based on the theme. There is also a “Raising Readers” card with information on the five best practices for early literacy.
How to use a kit?
Any way you’d like!
- Read individual books at bedtime, or any time or place you read to your child
- You could have storytime at home, where you read books, talk about the theme and sing your favorite songs
How to get a kit?
The kits are available through our catalog and some will be on display at the library. You can request one (or more) and check them out like any other item for three weeks; and they are renewable as long as there is no hold on the kit. You will need to check out and return kits at the front desk.
We hope you go get one soon!
This project was supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
