Library Testing New eBook App

Customers invited to join our testing

The Palo Alto City Library is beginning public testing of SimplyE, a single app for accessing eBooks and Audiobooks from multiple digital book providers.

For years, our customers have had to download multiple apps (like Overdrive, Axis 260, etc) to enjoy our collections of digital books, greatly complicating the online library experience. Thanks to ground-breaking work from the New York Public Library and Digital Public Library of America (DPLA), SimplyE is now rolling out to libraries across the country to simplify using eBooks.

With SimplyE, our customers can read or listen to nearly 90% of the library's digital books.

SimplyE also simplifies the checkout process, allowing customers to checkout items within our catalog and then jump over to the app, where their checkouts will be waiting for them to use.

The app is still in development, however, and so the library is soft launching while we continue to test it and gather customer feedback.

If you are interested in assisting us in testing SimplyE, please fill out the form below. We will reach out to you in January to find out how it went.
