Great news for our readers - Beanstack and Comics Plus are now connected! Comics, manga, graphic novels, and picture books have always counted toward your Beanstack reading challenges, and now, if you use both platforms, you can link your accounts so your Comics Plus reading logs itself automatically, no more manual entry required.
What's New
Once your accounts are linked, your Comics Plus activity syncs directly to Beanstack and counts toward any challenge you're taking part in, whether it's here at the library, at school, or anywhere else your Beanstack account is active.
How It Works
Link your accounts
Log in to the web version of Beanstack (not the app) and look for the banner inviting you to connect your Comics Plus account. This is a one-time setup, just search for Palo Alto City Library and enter your library card information to get your accounts linked. You'll see two options when searching:
- Palo Alto City Library CA - Childrens Library: designed for kids between ages 5-14
- Palo Alto City Library CA - Full Library: for all ages, including adult content
Read as usual
Once linked, you'll see a button next to your profile that takes you straight to Comics Plus. Dive into your favorite titles as you usually do!
Watch it sync
Your reading activity syncs to Beanstack automatically, typically within about 15 minutes. You'll see it clearly marked in your reading log so you always know it came from Comics Plus.
One thing to keep in mind - syncing starts from the moment you link your accounts. Past reading won't be backfilled, so it's worth linking sooner rather than later.
