LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com)

Here's a website that needs no introduction. Right now, at this very moment, LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com) is less than 5 clicks away. The best part: you do not have to create a new username or password to get there. One more time for the folks in the back: you do not need a LinkedIn account. Only your library card!

How to Get Started

The autodidactics reading this have already clicked the link in the above paragraph and found their next self-learning adventure. For everyone else, I should mention we do have a video series and step by step guide that walks you through the login process and how to set yourself up for success using this video library.

If you're using the mobile apps, our library ID is paloaltocitylibrary. All one word, no spaces.

As a personal note, I highly recommend watching these tutorial videos on a mobile device like a tablet or laptop. Mobile phones work OK if you're only listening to the audio, but it may be difficult to see their screen, especially with complex apps like the Adobe Creative Cloud suite. Either way, I find it far easier to absorb new info while away from my usual work space and the usual distractions that come along with it.

LinkedIn Learning has a YouTube channel where you can preview their videos, but why not sign up right now with your library card and see what they have?
