🎉 Vintage Media Lab Expands to Rinconada Library!

We’re excited to share that the Vintage Media Lab is opening a second location at Rinconada Library this May! This expansion means more access and more appointment opportunities for patrons who want to digitize and preserve personal collections—photos, home video, and audio media. 📼📷

🗓️ Booking Opens April 6

Starting April 6, patrons can book appointments from the Vintage Media Lab webpage by clicking “Book @ Rinconada” using the same online booking system you know from booking at Mitchell Park. Appointments can be made, rescheduled, and cancelled online.

Appointment details:
  • ⏱️ 2-hour appointments
  • 📅 Limited to 1 appointment per week per person

If you need more than 2 hours, please plan to split your project into multiple parts to complete over several weeks. To give everyone a fair chance at making reservations, back-to-back appointments are not allowed. However, if no one has reserved your desired equipment for the following timeslot, then you may be able to continue working on your project.

📍 Equipment at Rinconada

Rinconada’s lab will have all the same equipment and capabilities as Mitchell Park, with the exception of MiniDV camera (coming soon).

Please view our online tutorials for more information on using each digitizing machine.

💻 Laptop Recommended

To make the most of your session, patrons are encouraged to download any needed software in advance and bring a laptop to Rinconada’s Vintage Media Lab. SD and microSD cards are strongly preferred over USB and flash drives.

🙋‍♀️ Volunteer Opportunity

We’re also welcoming volunteers to support the Vintage Media Lab—a great way to help us extend hours for patrons to preserve meaningful memories while supporting library services. 🌟

See you in the lab soon!
