Our Summer Reading for a Cause program combines the joy of summer reading with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our community. As part of this initiative, we're partnering with Downtown Streets Team to host a Hygiene Kit Drive from July 17 through August 31.
Why a Hygiene Kit Drive?
Downtown Streets Team is a local organization that works towards restoring dignity, inspiring hope and providing a pathway for Team Members to recover from homelessness. Teams engage in beautification and clean-up projects in our community, while receiving case management and employment placement services from trained specialists. Downtown Streets Team distributes hygiene kits to Team Members and others experiencing homelessness. By organizing this drive, we aim to provide essential hygiene supplies to individuals and families in need.
How You Can Help
You can make a difference by donating any of the following new, unopened travel-sized hygiene items:
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrush
- Deodorant
- Shampoo
- Hand sanitizer
- Wipes
- Lotion
- Sunscreen
- Crew cut socks
- Water
- Backpack to store hygiene items
Donations can be dropped off at any Palo Alto library location during our business hours, from July 17 to August 31.
